In 2017, Houston Texans running back Lamar Miller rushed for a career low 3.7 yards per carry. Rushing for 888 yards for three touchdowns, the former Miami Dolphins runner seemed to be nearing the end of his career as a feature back.

In Sunday’s 29-13 win over the Cleveland Browns at NRG Stadium, Miller rushed for over 100 yards for the fourth time this season. Texans coach Bill O’Brien credits his hard work in the off-season for his recent turnaround: bit.ly/2ObRqPI

“Lamar is a really good pro,” O’Brien said. “He really understands that it’s a day-to-day business, a week-to-week and a year-to-year business. He really wanted to come in this year and have a good year for us and that’s what he’s done. I think we’ve managed him pretty well and he’s done a great job of, in the off-season, training and then having a good training camp. He’s always been a consistent performer for us.”

Miller spent a majority of the summer looking to shed weight and build his speed. Losing nearly eight pounds and working on his cardio, the Texans lead back now has rushed for his second consecutive 100-yard game during the team’s 29-13 victory over the Cleveland Browns.

Miller rushed for a season high 163 yards last week against the Tennessee Titans. The 27-year-old back also scored his first touchdown since Week 6.

As the season begins to dwindle down, Miller has nearly doubled his yards per carry from a season ago and now is on pace to rush for 1,000 yards for the first time since 2016: bit.ly/2ObRqPI
